HISTORY

WE’VE BEEN AROUND

In 1977, Ralph and Lucille Marquardt started Marquardt Transportation with one truck and one other employee. Their goal was to provide personal and quality service to a select group of customers. Over thirty years later, they still strive to perform the same personal and quality service to every customer.

Skyway Transportation (Van/Reefer Division) was purchased in 2002 by Ralph and Lucille Marquardt and their family. Skyway Transportation, Inc. is a contract carrier holding 48 state general commodity authority issued by the Federal Highway Commission, as well as authority issued by the Canadian provinces of Alberta and Ontario. Skyway operates at a centralized dispatch from its headquarters located in Waverly, Nebraska.

Headquartered in Yankton, South Dakota, Marquardt Transportation (Flatbed/Stepdeck/Heavy Haul Division) provides full-service transportation to all 48 states and Canada. Our dedication to our customers is reflected throughout our organization, starting with a transportation specialized management team, customer service representatives, dispatchers, drivers, and maintenance personnel. You will also notice our late model equipment and constant upgrading in technology as all of our power units are equipped with a proprietary satellite-based tracking system.

At Marquardt-Skyway we make sure that every job is done correct and done well. We believe everything we do should not only meet but also exceed your expectations. This is a huge commitment to live up to, but we feel it is this type of commitment that our customers deserve.

Marquardt-Skyway’s service levels are among the best in the business. This level of service is achieved through dedicated employees working continuously to ensure that our customers load requirements are met. These employees combine knowledge gained from years of experience at many different positions in the company to not only provide standard transportation services but to also customize transportation services designed specifically to fit your needs.
